blogInteractive & Informative Webpages
We’ve done a total revamp of the webpage features (figure 1) and added several places where customers can get updated information and pictures about our operation and the parts we cut. The best place to start is the “Coolest Cut of the week” blog (figure 2). This weekly project showcase includes recently completed orders for our customers and some shop highlights. Here you can see a sendoff for our summer intern, a very detailed laser cut part, a logo for the rocking band Irata, and us preparing for our new Techni Waterjet. The website also contains an online inquiry submission (click on “Free Quote”). The form will ask for some basic information about you and your project, and we will respond to you within 24 hours. You can also still email us directly to receive quotes at info@exactcut.net. Finally, if you would like a quick refresher of what a kerf is, why raster files do not easily cross over to vector files, or have trouble sleeping, you can find past editions of our Making the Cut newsletters under the “What we’re cutting” menu.

Vision of a Collaborative Web Maker-Spacebelsky
As a local business, we understand that a large part of our success is based on the advancements and success our local customers. As such, one of our values at Exact Cut is to not only be your source for cutting, but also to provide support and promotion to the community we serve through a collaborative web-based maker-space environment. We hope you will share this vision with us in support of our new Facebook page, where our customers, vendors, and neighbors can contribute helpful information that the community can benefit from. Engage with us! Like and share our page, write a review of the services you have received from Exact Cut, and post information or pictures about your own services. Many of our new customers come at the recommendation of existing customers, and may also be interested in becoming your customer as well. For our part, we try to post recommendations for customers we have cut for and show off their products. We have regularly posted industry news, cutting edge projects (check out the 3D printed digital sundial!), customer highlights (recently including amazing, finely-crafted swords- see figure 3), videos of our machines in action, and more. As an added incentive to participate, we will be posting periodic giveaways for the holidays, so be sure to check in regularly.
